In the announcement issued by the company, it was stated that WhatsApp will not be able to be used on the old operating systems of Android and iOS from January 1.

According to the company, users using smartphones with Android 4.0.3 or older operating system will not be able to use the service from January 1, similarly iPhone users with iOS 9 or older operating system will not be able to use the service. They will also not be able to use the app.

iPhone users who are using iPhone 4S, 5, 5S, iPhone 6 and 6S models will not be able to use WhatsApp on their mobiles.

Similarly, Android users using Samsung Galaxy S2, Motorola Droid Razer, LG Optimus Black or HTC Desire will also not be able to use the service.

The company advised the users that all such users should upgrade their mobile operating system before January 1 for uninterrupted service.
