The anime Gamers! celebrates its fifth anniversary — Kudasai

July 13, 2022 in Japan marks five years since the premiere of the anime adaptation of the light novels written by Sekina Aoi and illustrated by Saboten, Gamers!. The series was produced by the studios Pine Jam and had twelve episodes, but since then there has been no news of the franchise, in addition to the original novels already finished.

Sekina Aoi y Saboten they began publishing the light novels through the imprint Fantasia Bunko of Kadokawa in March 2015, and they finished it in October 2019 with a total of twelve volumes. In addition, a manga adaptation by the hand of Tsubasa Takahashi which was published in the magazine Monthly Shonen Ace between October 2016 and July 2019, the work inspired a twelve-episode anime adaptation produced by the studios Pine Jam and released in July 2017.

Gamer Synopsis!

Keita Amano is a typical high school player leading the life of an ordinary student. However, one day he has an unexpected encounter with the prettiest girl in school that makes him want to disappear without a trace. This girl, Karen Tendou, is an exemplary student who proclaims herself an idol of the school. She discovers that Amano is a gamer, and this new knowledge sparks in her a passionate desire to recruit him into the gaming club. Visiting the club, Amano is forced to get to know a very different facet of gaming than the one he likes so much. Tendou’s interest in Amano begins to shake up what was once a smooth life, filling it with spontaneity, awkwardness, and a bit of chaos. As a result, each day becomes a comical battle for Amano’s sanity as he tries to adjust to these wild and unexpected changes.
