Not long ago, there was a real hype about Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), especially since they make it possible to digitally represent the ownership of works of art. Euphoria was followed by disillusionment, and so, for example, pictures of cartoon monkeys that were once sold at exorbitant prices – the Bored Ape Yacht Club – only worth a fraction of their original amount. Another attempt is now being made in Austria: the Viennese company Expertcode is selling NFTs of the Anchor Clock on Hoher Markt, which was designed in 1914 by the Art Nouveau painter Franz Matsch.
