The AMIA and the DAIA once again demanded justice for Alberto Nisman eight years after his death POLITICAL El Intransigente

This Wednesday is fulfilled eight years from death of Alberto Nisman. In this framework, the Argentina Israeli Mutual Association (AMIA) and the Delegation of Argentine Israelite Associations (DAILY) renewed the request for justice and demanded clarification of the circumstances of the death of the former prosecutor. The AMIA also considered that the times of judicial processes in the country are “inadmissible”.

AMIA’s position

“On the eighth anniversary of the death of Dr. Alberto Nisman (Z¨L), the National Prosecutor who for ten years directed the investigation of the worst terrorist attack perpetrated in the country, AMIA once once more demands full clarification of the circumstances of his death and reiterates his firm demand for Justice”, AMIA said in a statement, alluding to the attacks on the Israeli Embassy and the headquarters of the entity itself, both of which occurred in the 1990s.

In this line, the AMIA pointed to the judicial officials in charge of the cause of the attack perpetrated on July 18, 1994, in which 85 people died and more than 300 were injured. “The judicial officials in charge of the case were urged to proceed quickly and impartially in the path of truth and to provide the answers that society as a whole is demanding,” the letter says.

Likewise, it highlights that Nisman’s death is “investigated as a homicide by the Argentine Justice”, which is linked “with the role and with the work that he carried out from the Fiscal Unit for the Investigation of the AMIA Cause”. To which, he described as “inadmissible” the “times of the judicial processes in our country and the situation of impunity still in force in the AMIA case.” “The institution raises, once once more, its strong request for Justice to be done soon”, he sentenced.

What did the DAIA say?

For its part, the DAIA maintained that the former prosecutor was murdered, while warning that the cause “does not have to be a matter of faith.” In statements to Radio Rivadavia, the head of the entity, Jorge Knoblovits, pointed out: “It has been determined by the Justice that Alberto Nisman was murdered. There is no perpetrator, but there is a motive, and that motive is the investigation that he carried out on the attack on AMIA and on the Memorandum with Iran ”.

He also recalled a meeting he had with the prosecutor three days before his death: “I did not see a suicide. I say my personal opinion because I was with him. I saw an enthusiastic, passionate man, a man who had two daughters whom he adored. It is my personal impression, but it does not have any importance because what matters is what Justice says”, Knoblovits said.

“Nisman’s death is ruled a murder. It does not have to be a matter of faith, it is not that for some it has to be a suicide depending on which side they belong to, and for others a murder,” continued the head of the DAIA, regarding the lifeless finding of Nisman in his apartment. from the Buenos Aires neighborhood of Puerto Madero on January 18, 2015.

Along these lines, Knoblovits stated: “This is a claim that commits us all, because impunity is a problem in Argentina. I think that politics has to stop looking so much at Justice, and Justice has to start reading more the letter of the law and look less at politics. I think that we are all going to be better off legally.” “In our country, impunity is defined as the lack of punishment for a crime or criminal; in the case of the murder of Nisman there is impunity ”, he contrasted.

“In the case of the attack on Pasteur 633 – the AMIA address – there is impunity because the culprits have not yet been arrested, but they have been determined thanks to the prosecutor’s investigation. Let’s not forget that Nisman died because of this investigation, because he was the one who determined the participation of the Republic of Iran, who detected the Iranian officials who met in a certain place to resolve the place and date, ”he concluded.
