Labor Minister Adonis Georgiadis spoke on the show “Society Hour MEGA” about it new labor bill, the provisions of which have already caused reactions.

Referring to “zero work” contracts or her bespoke employmentAdonis Georgiadis emphasized that through the bill many years of outstanding issues will be settled.

Yet, clarified that after the trial period of 6 months the contracts will be open-ended.

“Since 2010 in Greece, up to 12 months, if an employer fires you, you don’t get compensation. With the current law, he can fire you without any reason after 12 months. This will change, it will be 6 months. After 6 months you will have a normal contract. You will not receive compensation until 12 months of work, but the employer will not be able to fire you so easily after the second semester. he said.

As for tourism, he emphasized that this year the shortage of workers in the sector reached 60,000.

“In the business that will use the digital card, the indicated work will be fined as if it were black. Today, if the Labor Inspectorate enters a company and finds an uninsured employee, the fine is 10,500 euros. It is a high fine and this led to the fight against black labor.

If, however, he is put on reduced hours and has 10 hours to work and the Labor Inspectorate finds him, the fine is 500 euros. So many companies have moved the worker from the sphere of black labor to the undeclared,” he said, stressing that the fine in the case of the digital labor card will be 10,500 euros.
