The Agenda of Modernism: Bishop Emeritus of the Dominican Republic on the Vatican Doctrine Office’s Document

The Bishop Emeritus of the Dominican Republic, Víctor Masalles, indicated that the document recently released by the Vatican doctrine office, which allows priests to bless couples who are not married in the Catholic Church and those who are homosexuals, forms part of “an agenda of modernism that is expanding.”

When talking regarding the different crises in which the Catholic Church finds itself in these times, he expressed that this agenda does not want to destroy the church, rather take over it.

“It is a very misleading, very difficult document, because, on the one hand, they present you with very beautiful words, with the blessing, with the desire for a new dimension of the blessing, when the blessing is either liturgical or informal… The purpose “All of this is to eliminate homosexuality as a sin and change the doctrine,” said Masalles when speaking with José Plascencia, in the space “The Faith of the Church.”

He expressed that the document seeks to align well with the German conference, Berga and Lucemburg, which are the main promoters of the LGBT agenda.

“The blessing is to make people feel good… I am worried regarding (the document) because it does not seek to aspire to eternal life, only to make people feel good… No, you cannot bless sin, you bless people. The blessing has to be oriented towards things and people, towards the good for which they were intended,” he indicated.

Víctor Masalles said that if he were in charge of a diocese he would prohibit this type of blessing, while wishing that all congregations would oppose this document.

He also said that the same document invites those who do not want to do so not to bless, since it is not optional.

“The pope is a serious man, but I get the impression that he is not surrounded by the people who most help him make a church transparent, that seeks justice, punishing where it belongs and including everyone,” he said.

He explained that this punishment has occurred with many bishops and priests who have been contrary to some doctrines that Pope Francis has expressed.

In that sense, and when talking regarding his departure as bishop of the diocese of Baní, the resignation occurred because he was invited to resign and the person who welcomed him was the one who “drafted” his resignation.

“In my case I cannot say that I was removed, I was invited to resign, I was invited to resign, in theory I was going to go to Spain to collaborate a little. I was invited to resign, I resigned to go to Barcelona, not Barcelona or anything and I was left out, now I can’t say what it was for something because I don’t know. And I am now emeritus at 62 years old, well amen. But others have been like me because they have opposed the doctrines,” he explained.

“You don’t know how painful it has been, that you announce that you are going to Spain, in Spain they say no, that it is a lie, that here in the Dominican Republic they said it was a lie and I lost all credibility because it gave way to all kinds of conjectures “, he continued saying, saying that what happened hurt him a lot.

Regarding the crises that the church currently has, he pointed out faith, credibility, the crisis of including everyone and Christian identity.

“It is a crisis as it has been experienced, before, as Jesus lived, there have always been many problems and the Lord did not say that he was not going to see problems, but that he was always going to be in charge of straightening the course of Peter’s boat, which is the church… I would not go to another boat and another church because I want to be saved and it is in the church that salvation is found, and the crisis is not going to condemn me, they are going to condemn me if I renounce in the face of the crisis,” he explained. .
