MEXICO CITY (El Universal).— Every year, May 1 invites us to reflect on the achievements and current state of the organized labor movement, as well as on the progress and achievements achieved.

Demonstrations were held in different states of the country in commemoration of Labor Day.

CTM unions marched once morest the reform of the Pension and Retirement Law in Morelos.

The state leader of the CTM, Vinicio Limón Rivera, expressed his disagreement once morest the reform of the Pensions and Retirement Law, and accused that the resources of the Afores will be looted by the federal government headed by Morena.

In addition, he rejected the creation of the Pension Fund for Wellbeing, because it affects workers.

He announced that they will resort to amparos so that the Supreme Court of Justice can decide.

Limón Rivera pointed out that there are more than 60 thousand workers from different unions who take to the streets every year to express different demands.

This year, he stated, a demand is that the federal government does not take away the Afores because it is the workers’ money and they decide in which banking institution they keep that money. The government is not trustworthy, he said.

At the local level, he denounced the lack of medicines, terrible attention from the IMSS and the insecurity is “a thousand devils”, because every day people are victims of some crime.

Workers from the bottling industry unions, delivery drivers and construction workers joined the march. The National Union of Education Workers section 19 also participated, demanding the creation of support staff positions for all schools and a greater budget for the administrative career system.
