The abolition of the solicitation fee is a long-awaited development for freelancers, as this fee has taken a significant toll on their incomes in recent years.
The government, recognizing the difficulties faced by professionals, proceeded to a gradual reduction of the fee and finally to its complete abolition, as it had previously announced.
It is recalled that from this year the government had reduced the specific fee to 325 euros from 650 euros while announcing its complete abolition from 2025, as was finally confirmed by the Prime Minister’s speech.
What does this mean for freelancers and how does it benefit them?
Those that have been in force until now, provided that the burden of the pretense fee is structured as follows:
800 euros for legal entities that carry out a commercial business and have their headquarters in tourist destinations and in cities or villages with a population of up to 200,000 inhabitants.
1,000 euros for legal entities that run a commercial business and have their headquarters in cities with a population of more than 200,000 inhabitants.
325 euros for professionals and freelancers.
400 – 500 euros for natural persons whose income comes from an individual service business or free profession and have a written contract with up to three natural and/or legal persons, or 75% of their gross income comes from one natural and/or legal person face.
In addition, for each branch, the registration fee amounts to 300 euros per year, if it is set up by a self-employed person and 600 euros per year, if it is set up by a legal entity running a commercial business.
Targeted intervention
Finally, from the stage of the TIF, the point changes announced by the government to the minimum taxable income of the self-employed were also announced, an issue that had raised a lot of discussion in the past period. These changes, after all, do not concern a horizontal reduction of the amount but a targeted intervention with geographical criteria.
It concerns the expansion of an already valid provision, that of reducing the amount of the minimum taxable income by half. Until now, this concerned towns and villages up to 500 people. Now the limit is tripled, reaching 1,500 people.
It is recalled that the minimum taxable income of the self-employed is calculated on a case-by-case basis based on the objective living expenses and the expenses of acquiring assets of the taxpayer and his dependents.
