A busy summer season ended a few days ago (May 15 to July 10), in the multidimensional artistic space of the Polyphonic Choir of Patras.
Fourteen concerts were held by the Polyphonic Conservatory (Director: Giorgos Bourdopoulos, Administrative Director: Efi Kavvadia) with the cycle: “Student Concerts 2024”, in the “Tolis Nomikos” concert hall of the Organization, which were attended by more than 1,200 listeners and which concerned the presentation of the artistic work of all the schools and classes of the Conservatory, while from the relevant examination procedures 6 Diplomas and 5 Degrees were awarded to students of various directions.
In addition to these and in the context of the artistic program of the Conservatory, the karaoke concert of the students of the modern song class took place on June 27 in the Atrium of the “3.14” venue, in Rio, while with great success on July 6, the concert- tribute to the great folk creator and bard, Vassilis Tsitsanis, in the packed Auleio area of the Royal, with the participation of a 10-member orchestra and 9 performers.
Outside the Conservatory, the Organization organized on June 26, in the also full Achaia Clauss Courtyard and with the co-organization of the Region of Western Greece, the concert “CROSSROADS 2024” with the participation of the famous Children’s Choir GEWANDHAUS KINDERCHOR from Leipzig, Germany (Director: Frank -Steffen Elster, piano: Walter Zoller), of the YOUTH DEPARTMENT of the CHORAL WORKSHOP OF NAFPLIO (Director: Yannis Nikolopoulos, piano: Marina Mylonas), of the WOMEN’S CHOIR BELCANTES I.N. Agios Andreou Eglikada Patras (Director: Elena Droukopoulou, piano: Konstantina Androutsopoulou) and the “POLYFONIKIS” CHILDREN’S CHOIR (Director: Aretousa Nikolopoulou, piano: Marina Mylona).
But the other departments of the Organization had similar activity. The Mixed Choir (Director: Stavros Solomos, piano: Lousi Christodoulou), took part in the 35th Meeting of Choirs organized by the “Orpheas” Musicological Association of Lefkada, while the Pre-Children’s Choir of the Organization (Director: Marialena Bokari, piano: Marina Mylonas), participated at the 6th Festival of Children’s Choirs, organized in Tripoli, on June 1 at the Malliaropoulio Theater, by the Choir of Tripoli.
A similar activity was had by the Women’s Vocal Group “Emmelia” (Director: Albena Penkova, piano: Olena Fedko), which took part in the 3rd International Festival of Velvet Choirs of Kozani, which took place on June 29, in the open theater of the Velvet Sports Center.
Finally, the Organization’s Theatrical Workshop (Director: Athina Kallimani-Georgitsopoulou), completed the cycle of performances, with the juvenile section, of the play: “The noses broke” by Anna Dendrinou, with 6 more performances out of a total of 25, in Schools of Primary Education, who for his activity was honored by the Mayor of Patras, Kostas Peletidis, in a special ceremony at the Patras City Hall, while also presenting the play “Don Quixote – the dreamer”, at the Old Slaughterhouses on June 16, as part of the Festival Amateur Theater of the Municipality of Patreon.
On June 16, the elections provided for by the Organization’s Statute took place, from which the new Board of Directors (Chairman: Yiannis Kottoros) and the Organization’s Audit Committee were elected.
