A city that promises salvation is “Celebration” in Florida, founded in 1994 by the Walt Disney Company. Now sold once more, it now has around 10,000 residents, whose lives are regulated on 70 pages. She inspired Felix Krakow from Hamburg, born in 1990, to write his drama in which a murder shakes the ideal world.
The piece, in cooperation with the Bruckner University drama studio and the Landestheater, is also the Linz directorial debut of Mechthild Harnischmacher, who is primarily concerned with one thing: “What happens when a promise of salvation falls away?” What happens to the true emotions behind the pastel “Disney foil” that designer Stella Lennert symbolically wrapped in cotton candy? Disney fans will also find references to many films in the piece.
Info: Studio stage Promenade, April 7th, 8 p.m. (premiere), on view until June 21st, tickets: 0732 7611-400, landestheater-linz.at
