The Abu Dhabi Festival awarded Sir Ian Isaac Stotzker its prestigious award, in recognition of his exceptional achievements in his busy career and his contributions to enriching the fields of music and culture, in conjunction with the activities of the pioneering cultural diplomacy initiative “Arts in Embassies” organized by the group in London.
The festival, which is held under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs, the honorary founding sponsor of the festival, and under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Shamsa bint Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, has presented its prestigious award annually since 2012 to exceptional bidders from the great creators of artists, musicians and thinkers. And pioneering writers, for their outstanding contributions and lifelong achievements in the fields of arts, culture, thought and creativity.
Stotzker was honored with the award in the presence of Sheikh Khalid Saud Al Qasimi, Deputy Head of Mission of the UAE Embassy in the United Kingdom, and Hoda Ibrahim Al Khamis, founder of the Abu Dhabi Culture and Arts Group, founder and artistic director of the Abu Dhabi Festival.
Hoda Al-Khamis said: “This year, the Abu Dhabi Festival gives its award to an exceptional personality who was able to make a difference in the renaissance of music and the arts in her country and the world, Sir Ian Stotzker, the entrepreneur and lover of music and arts who founded the prestigious “Live Music Now” in the United Kingdom with Ehudi Menuhin, and supported He generously supported the London Symphony Orchestra, the Philharmonic Orchestra, the Royal Academy of Music and many others, and for two decades he was a loyal participant in the work of the Abu Dhabi Group for Culture and Arts.”
She continued: “Stotzker, who received the Order of the British Empire, dedicated his life to supporting music, sustaining the creative community, and developing the skills of young musicians, and we award him the festival award, which was won by pioneers of Arab and international culture and creativity, in appreciation of his humanitarian giving and services in the fields of music, arts, and humanitarian work.”

Over the years, he played an active role in nurturing musical talent and enhancing cultural experiences through his participation in supporting, managing and supervising many initiatives and institutions, and with his dedication and tireless efforts he left a global imprint in music and culture.
