The 8th Sidiief World Congress, a catalyst for nursing knowledge!

The 8e World Congress of Francophone Nurses organized by the SIDIIEF, International Secretariat of French-speaking nurses, with the unifying theme: “Creating health: the power of nursing knowledge” brought together more than 1,200 participants from October 16 to 20, 2022 in Ottawa (Canada). Away from the event, the French-speaking body provides, free of charge, the summary of the plenary conferences and panels as well as a return in images of the highlights of the congress.

More than 500 oral and poster communications illustrated the power of nursing knowledge to improve health and care.

Helen SaletteNurse, M.Sc.N., ASC, General Manager of SIDIIEFwritten in the preamble in this summary document : « Thanks to the quality of the speakers’ and presenters’ interventions, we were able to offer a major scientific and professional program. By sharing and discussing their daily practice, nurses have been able to see that, wherever they are in the world, they possess and use unique knowledge that makes a difference to individuals, families and communities. In all countries, whatever the prevailing economic reality, the spirit of initiative of nurses is tangible. The nursing profession, despite the pandemic, remains driven by the same desire to ensure quality care in all health systems. This event, while it has fueled our collective reflection and is already fueling possible solutions for the coming years, has also made it possible to forge links united by professional solidarity and to stimulate collaborative projects. To ensure that ideas and knowledge continue to circulate within the Francophone nursing community, we are proud to offer you this book, summarizing the highlights of the conference. I am convinced that this publication will serve as a reference document in your professional reality.« .

See you in Lausanne, Switzerland, in June 2025, for the 9th SIDIIEF World Congress
