The 6th edition of the Festival “Jazz sous l’Arganier”, from December 27 to 29 in Essaouira

The 6th edition of the Festival Jazz under the Argan tree will be held from December 27 to 29 in Essaouira, with 6 new concerts at Dar Souiri, an emblematic space for all music.

« Magnificent offering to music lovers, this edition has chosen to open up to the most inspired and gifted composers and musicians of the Moroccan Jazz scene.“, underlines the Essaouira-Mogador Association, organizer of this event, in a press release.

From the Moroccan scene but not only, the public and for three days will also discover the exceptional creativity and modernity of a Moroccan community of Jazz, which knew how to make its own the instruments, the colors and the voices of Africa, raises the same source.

Gathered by the great Majid Bekkas, are expected in Essaouira Hamza Bennani Smires, Khalil Bensouda, Julian Belbachir, Soukaina Fahsi, Houssam Guinea and Lalla Tamar, says the Association, adding that they are all on the bill for this 6th edition which will see, among others, the concerts of HBS Moderntet and Urban Folklore with their festive and generous jazz, which is danced, sung and shared, subtly mixing soul and Moroccan music.

And to continue that other surprises will punctuate this 6th edition which “will be distinguished by an anthology concert of the Sextet Afro Gnaoua Jazz directed by Majid Bekkas, our Aly Farka Touré”.

And as Majid Bekkas has friends all over the world, surprise guests are expected for an unprecedented concert of which Essaouira has the secret and which will be a landmark this year once more, specifies the Association.
