Currently organized in Morocco, the Women’s AFCON 2022 has a double stake since it also offers 4 tickets for the 2023 Women’s World Cup which will be held from July 20 to August 20, 2023 in Australia and New Zealand. All present in the last four of the CAN, Nigeria, South Africa and two newcomers, Morocco and Zambia, have qualified for the competition.
For the 4 selections eliminated in the quarter-finals of the CAN, all hope is not lost. Indeed, two repechage matches will take place on Monday between the losers: Senegal-Tunisia and Botswana-Cameroon. The two winners will qualify for an intercontinental play-off tournament scheduled for February 18-23, 2023 in New Zealand. The 10 selections participating in this tournament will be divided into three groups in the semi-final then final format and the winner of each group will validate his ticket for the World Cup.
