“Groups of people from every corner of Greece started for the “village celebration”… common point, the dance, the song, the music and the customs that each place “carried” with its own special meaning”.
The 26th Folk Dance Festival based on the above has laid a solid foundation by presenting this year again with a four-day feast of sound colors and dance performances from all over Greece promoting and preserving “Greek Folk Culture”. As then, so now groups of local dance groups from every corner come to support our goal
Having already established itself as an institution event in the dance events of the wider region, the Folk Dance Festival is holding its 26th step this year, from Thursday, July 25 to Sunday, July 28.
with the theme “Listen to Me How I Sing… With Drum & Dance”.
As every year, this year too, the Folk Dance Festival takes on a pan-Hellenic character, since it manages to present over 25 dance performances, which in total are accompanied by at least 500 dancers and folk orchestras from every corner of Greece, while over 6000 people watch the event.
The entrance is free and the start time is at 21:00, in the specially designed theater of the Souli Primary School of Patras.
The Organizers of the Festival are the Cultural Association with the Souli Dance Department of Patras who proved that they have entered the root of culture for good by raising up villages with an identity of Greek culture and reminding us that our tradition does not “fit” trade but nor display groups with the goal of just showing off.
