the 2022 films and series awards

GOLDEN GLOBES 2022.Without retransmission, red carpet or stars, the 79th Golden Globes ceremony was confined to the list of awards. West Side Story, The Power of the Dog, Succession … Discover the 2022 prize list.

[Mis à jour le 10 janvier 2022 à 9h32] The 2022 Golden Globes were unlike any other edition. No red carpet, no stars, not even a speech or a TV broadcast. The ceremony rewarding the best of American cinema and television, before the Oscars, was content to list the winners on social networks during the evening of January 9 to 10, 2022. West Side Story and The Power of the Dog are the big winners in terms of films, while the series has won Succession. Among the award-winning actors was Nicole Kidman (Being the Ricardos), Will Smith (King Richard), Rachel Zegler (West Side Story), Ariana De Bose (West Side Story), Andrew Garfield (Tick, tick… BOOM !) or Kodi Smit-McPhee (Power of the Dog).

The exceptional device of the Golden Globes 2022 is linked in part to the health crisis, but also to the virulent criticisms of which the ceremony has been the subject for several months. In May 2021, the ceremony was the subject of fierce criticism. The Golden Globes have been accused of discrimination, sexism and lack of transparency by several stars, such as Scarlett Johansson and Tom Cruise. NBC has also announced that it will not air the 2022 awards ceremony, although Golden Globes jurors have assured that they will adopt reforms to improve representativeness. This is why, in addition to the health crisis which compromises any gathering, the Golden Globes are to be followed only on social networks this year. Below, find the full list of films and series of the Golden Globes 2022.

Usually, the Golden Globes are broadcast live on the subscription channel Canal + in France, on NBC on the United States side. In 2022, the organizers of the ceremony announced that no TV broadcasts are available: it is therefore not possible to follow the Golden Globes in streaming. The announcement of the final prize list is made on the Golden Globes social networks and on their official website, on the night of January 9 to 10, 2022.

What date for the 2023 Golden Globes?

For now, we do not know the date of the next Golden Globes. The 2022 edition was held on January 9, 2022, without TV broadcast or streaming. No stars and no public were invited, because of the pandemic but also because of many criticisms on the lack of diversity and transparency of the ceremony.
