The first ordinary session of the National Technical Committee for the National Development Policy 2021-2025 was held this Friday, April 28, 2023 in Ouagadougou with the objective of assessing the Plan’s 2022 annual performance report.
The National Development Policy is operationalized through the Transition Action Plan, adjusted on January 25 as an Action Plan for Stabilization and Development. This plan breaks down the priorities of the Transition into actions and identifies the reforms and investments to be carried out, in order to achieve the missions it has assigned itself.
It is articulated around four 4 pillars, namely the fight against terrorism and restoring territorial integrity, the response to the humanitarian crisis, the rebuilding of the State and the improvement of governance while working for national reconciliation and to social cohesion.
To steer the National Development Policy, a system for monitoring and evaluating the execution of the Action Plan has been put in place. The national technical committee has for general attributions, the examination and the technical validation of the documents to be submitted to the National Steering Committee of the national development policy.
The purpose of this session of the National Technical Committee is to assess the 2022 annual performance report on the implementation of the National Development Policy, through the level of execution of the annual tranche of the Action Plan for Stabilization and development, to identify the major difficulties encountered, to outline the outlook for the 2023-2025 period and to propose recommendations with a view to optimizing performance.
To listen to Nicolas Kobiané, Secretary General of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Foresight, Chairman of the National Technical Committee for National Development Policy, during the year 2022, the pace of the implementation of the Policy national development was mainly affected by the institutional changes that Burkina Faso experienced, the persistence of the security challenge and the exogenous shocks linked to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis ».
