The countdown begins. As of December 20, we are 219 days from the opening ceremony of the Olympic Games, and 252 days from the first Paralympic Games in France. We give you here the twenty dates which will count before the start of this planetary event. Mark your calendars.

One hundred years following 1924, the Summer Games of the XXXIIIe Olympiad will be celebrated from July 26 to August 11, 2024 in Paris and throughout France. The XVIIes The Summer Paralympic Games, the first on our soil, will take place from August 28 to September 8, 2024. In the meantime, here are the 20 key dates.

  • January 16: Unveiling of the French team’s outfits designed by equipment manufacturer Le Coq Sportif.
  • January 31: Draw for the Marathon pour Tous (a loop linking Paris and Versailles). The organization received 400,000 bib requests. 2,000 places have already been allocated. Only 2,000 more will be awarded in this drawing.
  • FEBRUARY : Unveiling of the medals made by the jeweler Chaumet.
  • February 15-17: Start of test events with a boccia competition (a ball sport related to pétanque) to begin with the Paralympic Games in mind.
  • 1is mars : Handover of the keys to the Olympic and Paralympic Village straddling three municipalities of Seine-Saint-Denis (Saint-Denis, Saint-Ouen-sur-Seine, and L’Île-Saint-Denis).
  • Mars : Unveiling of commercial posters.
  • 20 mars : Draw for men’s and women’s football tournaments.
  • 23 mars : Volunteers Convention, 45,000 people gathered, “the lifeblood of the Games” as Tony Estanguet explained.
  • 2-6 avril : Olympic and Paralympic Week, one million students participated in 2023.
  • 16 avril : Lighting of the Olympic Flame in Olympia (Greece).
  • 17 avril : D-100. Opening of the official ticket resale platform.
  • June 7: Departing from the Relais des Océans, the Flame crosses the Atlantic aboard the Maxi Banque Populaire XI to travel to five overseas territories.
  • 21st of June : Music Festival in the colors of sport as part of the Cultural Olympiad.
  • July 18: Opening of the Olympic and Paralympic Village.
  • July 29: Opening of the Champions Park located in the Trocadéro gardens, at the foot of the Eiffel Tower. The athletes will come and present their medals at the end of their competition.
  • August 10: Marathon for everyone.
  • August 28: Opening ceremony of the Paralympic Games, in the heart of Paris (at the bottom of the Champs-Elysées and on Place de la Concorde).
