There are good vintages and less good vintages, but when one year brings together a video game collection as brilliant as in 2018, it’s worth paying tribute to. Welcome to the maturity of PS4 and Xbox One; Welcome to the great vintage of the independent game. Welcome, in short, to 2018.
You, dear readers, do not know it, but it is always a problem for the editor to make a list like this one. One of the bosses proposes the topic, a poor geek from the newsroom writes the script and exposes the list to the rest of his colleagues. That’s where the problem begins: threats to pop eyes out of the sockets of colleagues, punches, swear words and bad manners.
Why? Because not everything fits in a list, and there are journalists who defend some games and others who defend others, and nobody wants their sacred cows to be left out. For mere fanboyism? Please, we are a serious medium; our bloody battle with our mates is to ensure that you have the best roster and play the best we can offer. 2018, therefore, was a difficult year to choose its great games.
I’ll start with the best: Do you remember a year when there was such an intense competition to win the game of the year? We had two productions that define a whole generation in the same harvest, Red Dead Redemption 2 y God of War. Arthur Morgan ended up winning, but the Kratos video game also left an important mark on PlayStation 4 users back in the day and PC users now. It is not for less: it is a true clash of titans of the North American industry such as Rockstar and Sony Santa Monica. But they weren’t the only two big games of the year, far from it.

In fact, many titles have been left off the list. The Messenger, Kingdom Come: Deliverance o Vampyr they have been left out, but there were many that we had in mind and they did not end up making the final cut either. Do not hesitate to take a look at them and, if you can, add them to your collection, because they are absolutely essential video games that are well worth a place in your collection.
