After the mistaken validation of a response from her competitor, Margaux will have the right to a second chance in the program “Les 12 coups de midi”, broadcast on TF1.
The headset will not have helped Jean-Luc Reichmann, the host of 12 strokes of noon, the TF1 game show. This Friday, April 15, during the “blow by blow” test, he was taken aback by one of the candidate’s answers, as were all of the show’s teams.
A wrong answer validated by the production
Asked regarding the neighboring country which annexed Alsace in 1871, Maël answers “Prussia”. Problem, the moderator’s tablet indicates Germany as the answer. Moment of hesitation and backstage emergency checks. Finally, the show’s voiceover validates the answer and Maël puts pressure on her competitor, Margaux.
But this Saturday, the facilitator had to make a small point. “Yesterday, we spent ten hours on an 1871 dispute between Prussia and Germany. To be completely honest, you stuck with us. We accepted the answer but we were a few days from 1871”, explained Jean- Luc Reichmann.
Second chance for Margaux
In reality, Prussia became Germany at the end of January 1871. “And even though it was ruled by the King of Prussia, at the time of the annexation it was already Germany”, concluded the voiceover of the 12 strokes of noon. To make up for this error, the show announced that Margaux, the aggrieved candidate, was going to be invited back in a next episode.
