“This slight dehydration can influence your mood, your memory, your concentration and your coordination as well as your level of energy, explains Amy Scott-MacLean. You might also suffer from a headache and become irritable.”
And it doesn’t stop there… On a cellular level, she explains, cells begin to shrink and blood thickens when the kidneys begin to retain water. There will be a decrease in urine output and the body temperature will attempt to regulate itself. “Without water, the body does not sweat or become cold during exercise, which triggers an increase in thirst.”
While drinking water is still the best way to stay hydrated, there are foods high in water content that can also help you increase your daily water intake.
