The ¼ mile drag races return to the Francisco Villa racetrack

After a brief wait, the speed, the roar of the engines and the smell of tires return this 2023 to the facilities of the Francisco Villa Autodrome, for the celebration of the first quarter-mile drag race this Sunday, January 15.

The fastest cars will make the engines roar in all their categories, where they will compete under the motto of “compete as many times as you want, against whoever you want”, in addition, motorsport fans will be able to appreciate luxury cars such as Ferraris, Audis, as well as Mclaren who they’ll make the quarter mile roar.

The organizing committee announced that the prices to see this great spectacle of pure speed will remain the same prices that were handled in 2022, so the entrance to the pits will be 1,200 pesos with the right to two companions and the opportunity to run as many times as the pilot wants.

In addition, they will continue with their traditional entrance to the stands in their modality (sardine car) in which people who fit in the car can enter for only 300 pesos.

For this first date of 2023, more than 80 cars of different brands are expected for this Sunday event, who will cross the only facility with all the ideal and regulatory conditions for the practice of this sport in its quarter-mile modality, as It is the Francisco Villa Autodrome.

For this start of the year, one of the drivers to beat and who left a great taste in the mouth on the track was Abe Neufeld, who broke the track record twice in 2022.

The first of them was done in Colorado 2011, marking a time of 8.27 seconds and the second was at the end of the season, where with his Shelbby GT350 the one from Ciudad Cuauhtémoc finished with 8.05, being him the most veils.

The second Alexis Padilla is placed with the third fastest time, with 9.27, second by Isaak Janzen in his 1996 Chevrolet with a 416 turbo engine, while closing the top five of the fastest at the racetrack is Saúl Miranda with 9.69 seconds being the five pilots who in the last date lowered the barrier of 19 seconds.
