We ask for your understanding and your support.”

About the play: “The False Count of Thaur Castle”
Count Romed von Thaur is once once more bored. His wife and children are out of the house and he has nothing to do. A visit to the brine bath in Hall is intended to distract him. The only unfortunate thing is that the Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and the Crown Prince are now coming to Thaur for a state visit. Without further ado, Josef, the Count’s chamberlain, pretends to be the head of the house at Thaur Castle – a role that he knows how to please.
The evil takes its course when Magda and Hans, two peasant children from the village, pretend to be the children of the wrong count. However, the swindle seems to work and so Romed has to play along for better or worse following his return. To top it all off, the Count’s unsuspecting wife comes home and the state visit turns into chaos.
Michael Feichtner wrote this turbulent comedy of mistaken identity especially for the stage at the Thaur castle ruins. For the 20th anniversary of the Thaurer Schlossspiele, the Thaur Theater Association is now presenting the world premiere of this play from Thaur, for Thaur, in Thaur and regarding Thaur.
