That foreign language actress I feel proud that only my Malayalam is understood: Surabhi Lakshmi
Surabhi Lakshmi is an actress who entered the small screen through reality television. Surabhi later emerged as one of the best actresses in Malayalam through small roles.
Surabhi also won the National Award for Best Actress for the film Minnaminnung. Surabhi Lakshmi has once again stunned the audience with Ajayan’s second film Moshanam, which created a buzz in theaters.
Surabhi is sharing her experience while promoting Ajay’s second Moshanam film. Surabhi said she was interviewed by The Hindu newspaper as part of a promotion but spoke in a mix of Malayalam and Tamil because she was not comfortable with English. Surabhi said actress Kriti Shetty knows her Malayalam best and Kriti told her this. Surabhi is talking to Wonder Wall Media.
“When I went to promote ARM, I took part in The Hindu interview and spoke in Tamil. When I went there, I had one idea in mind and that was Tamil Nadu. Everyone else spoke in English.
I said I’m not very good at English. So I said I speak some English, a little Malayalam and a little Tamil. They agreed.
We got away with it because of our theater experience. They all understood everything. My Malayalam is the only Malayalam that Kriti Shetty understands.
She said, I can only understand Malayalam spoken by Ms. Surabhi. Then I felt proud of myself. I feel good,” said Surabhi Lakshmi.
Meanwhile, Surabhi’s upcoming film Rifle Club is directed by Ashiq Abu. “The Rifle Club” is also the Malayalam debut of Bollywood actor-director Anurag Kashyap. Dileesh Pothan, Senna Hegde, Hanuman Kind and others also appear in the film.
