Former Punjab captain KL Rahul has said that his decision to leave the Punjab Kings for the 15th season in a row was a personal decision. Rahul, who had a stellar performance for the Punjab Kings last season, was also the top scorer last season. Despite being in good form, the player decided not to stay on the team. The player has now revealed his reason for leaving the team.
“I have been a part of the Punjab Kings for four years. I have been able to put up a good performance with the team in all the seasons. But the decision to leave Punjab was my personal decision. I was determined to know what the test is waiting for beyond Punjab,” said Rahul. He added that the decision to leave Punjab was a “tough one” and was taken following much deliberation.
Prior to the IPL star auction, the teams had given the superstars a chance to leave the team. While superstars David Warner and Rashid Khan have left Hyderabad, Kagiso Rabada has left Delhi Capitals.
