Influencer Chantel Schnider claims she’s come up with an unorthodox way to avoid her ‘miserable’ periods: she gets pregnant so she doesn’t have to have them at all.
This Canadian, mother of two and pregnant with her third, revealed that she uses this preventive measure to avoid having her period in a video that has been viewed 4.4 million times, reports the New York Post.
“When he gets you pregnant every year so you don’t have to get your period,” the video reads.
Ms. Schnider and her husband, Aaron Alexander, regularly post videos regarding the trials and tribulations of waiting for a little one, including pregnancy cravings, flatulence and even just to try to get out of the house.
Fortunately, being pregnant does not only have disadvantages.
For Ms. Schnider, it is even a panacea, which prevents her from having her period.
In the six-second clip, Ms. Schnider can be seen dancing with her family while giving them candy, all accompanied by a soundtrack that sings “Thank you to my man.”
Some would say that this avoidance technique is counterintuitive, that it’s a bit like deliberately contracting COVID-19 in order to avoid getting vaccinated.
But Ms. Schnider disagrees, stating that pregnancy is much better than menstruation.
“My pregnancies are absolutely miserable, but somehow I still prefer being pregnant [que d’avoir] rules,” she says in the comments.
Ms Schnider plans to avoid her period for a while, as she wants to have up to 10 children, according to another comment.
Needless to say, Schnider’s unconventional method drew mixed reactions.
One person called the serial mom “smart,” and another called her husband a “superman.”
A third person exclaimed, “Omg I love this”.
“Same thing, I’ve been pregnant since 2020,” said another woman.
