Thai authorities have advised people to watch out for diseases such as dengue fever, hand-foot-mouth syndrome and other potential illnesses that may intensify during the rainy season.
Deputy government spokeswoman Traisuree Taisaranakul urged people to seek immediate medical attention if they have a high fever for more than two days, and especially if they develop a persistent headache, muscle aches and small red spots on body and limbs.
She also recommended eradicating mosquito breeding grounds and covering water containers to prevent insects from laying eggs there.
