Thailand Open; PV Sindhu defeats world number one Akane Yamaguchi in semifinals

Bangkok: India’s PV Sindhu defeated world number one Akane Yamaguchi in the semifinals of the Thailand Open Badminton Tournament. In a three – game match, Sindhu defeated Yamaguchi 21-15, 20-22, 21-13. Sindhu won in 51 minutes.

In Saturday’s final, Sindhu will face Olympic gold medalist Chen Yufei of China.

With this, Sindhu was able to make amends for her defeat to Yamaguchi at the Asian Badminton Championships earlier this year. In the final, Sindhu has the best record once morest a Chinese player who has been in good form recently.
