The Texas Rangers qualified for the World Series this Monday by winning Game 7 of the American League Championship with a 4-11 beating of the Houston Astros.

Cuban Adolis García hit two home runs this Monday, drove in five runs and scored three times.

The Rangers (4-3) will play in their first World Series since 2012, when they lost in seven games to the St. Louis Cardinals.

The Houston Astros fell in their mission to repeat the campaign that led them to the Major League title.

The rival of the Texas team will be the winner of the National League Championship Series that will be decided in the seventh game by the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Cuban García, who reached seven home runs in the postseason, was the Most Valuable Player of the Championship Series by hitting a home run in four consecutive games, driving in 15 runs and batting for an average of .357 in seven games.

The Rangers also had home runs from Corey Seager and Nathaniel Lowe.

Experienced pitcher Max Scherzer was unable to complete five innings of regulation. He left the game following 2.2 two-run innings.

Left-handed reliever Jordan Montgomery (3-0) pitched 2.1 scoreless innings and earned the win.

Dominican Cristian Javier (2-1) might not meet expectations and left the game following retiring only one batter and allowing three runs.

Venezuelan José Altuve hit his 27th home run of the postseason and Alex Bregman his 19th.

The Astros once once more had problems achieving a continuous attack and ended their participation in the playoffs with a 1-5 performance in six games at Minute Maid Park in Houston.

The Rangers went ahead in the first inning with three runs on a solo home run by Corey Seager, and two RBI singles by Adolis García and Mitch Garver.

Cuban José Abreu hit a single to left field that drove in Venezuelan José Altuve.

The Rangers added the fourth run with a home run by García in the third inning.

Bregman reduced the Astros’ deficit with a home run in the third inning.

In the fourth, Evan Carter hit a two-run double and Garcia followed with a two-run single for the team led by Bruce Bochy.

The Rangers increased the penalty to an eight-run lead (2-10) with two more in the sixth on a two-run four-corner hit driven by Nathaniel Lowe.

The Astros added their third run in the seventh, undisputedly to the center field of Cuban Yordan Álvarez.

García took the Rangers off once more, with his second home run of the game in the eighth inning, a shot that left the boundaries of the field, over the left field wall.

In the last opportunity in the attack for the Astros, Altuve went deep to add the fourth run for those led by Dusty Baker.

Cuban left-hander Aroldis Chapman pitched 1.1 scoreless innings and Dominican José Leclerc worked an inning in which they scored a run.
