Aggieland Ready for Lone Star Showdown Weekend Extravaganza
It’s not just the Texas A&M and UT football game Aggies have to look forward to this weekend. There’s a whole lineup of fun and festivities packed into Friday and Saturday, transforming College Station into a non-stop celebration of maroon and white.
From film screenings to a special Yell Practice, Aggieland participants will have plenty to do before kickoff. “We’ve talked about this game for at least 13 months,” said Erin Jones, Executive Associate Athletics Director for Game Management and Special Events at Texas A&M, “and I don’t think any of us thought it would be this big of a deal when we started planning for it.”
Friday’s slate is jam-packed with exciting events. Movie fans can catch “Standing Room Only: The Legend of the 12th Man” followed by “Ruck Across the Brazos” at Kyle Field in the afternoon. Bridge entertainment for fans can explore a special Aggie Football Yell Practice happening at 5:30 p.m., followed by an electrifying “12th Man Firework Show” at Kyle Field. Music enthusiasts can catch the “Cotton Holdings Lone Star Showdown Concert” featuring big-name artists at Reed Arena and “The Burning Desire” documentary screening at Rudder Theatre, both kicking off at 7 p.m.
Instead of a tradition Midnight Yell Practice the day before the game Symbol, a 5:30 p.m. Yell Practice at Kyle Field is scheduled to accommodate the Aggie Football team and Coach Elko who are attending the event “Coach Elko is the epitome of a fan’s coach and he believes in this university and what we stand for,” Jones explained, “and for him to make the exception of adjusting [the football team’s schedule] slightly and making sure that he and the team could be on site for this Yell Practice was very important.”
Saturday continues the high energy build-up to the 6:30 p.m. kickoff at Kyle Field with “ESPN College Game Day” broadcasting.”
Pro Football team activities start bright and early on Saturday with ESPN College storefront opening stilistaswkends to cater to the captivating experience only College Station can provide. Fans can also take stroll exclusively at Aggie Park from 8 a.m.
Through 11 a.m.
The annual 13-0 Burn establishes ground at 10 a.m. and will run through 6:30 p.m. located at Aggie Spirit Lawn gifting fans the opportunity to experience unique activities and engagements throughout the event.
The traditional “Corps of Cadets Pre-Game March-In,” kicking off at 4:30 p.m. on “The Quad”, expense and pep rally will bring all age groups alike. Together they will swell in unison with the new tradition of the Spirit Walk taking center stage at 4:20 p.m., capped off by a spectacular flyover featuring four Flaming칼到达itside Kyle Field and the enduring
The stage is set for a thrilling battle between two in-state rivals. But beyond the traditional gridiron showdown, Aggieland is prepared to offer an unforgettable experience for attendees all weekend long.
