Texans beat Titans 19-16 with Fairbairn’s 54-yard field goal in overtime

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Ka’imi Fairbairn hit a 54-yard field goal as overtime expired and the Houston Texans rallied from a 13-point deficit without CJ Stroud to win 19 on Sunday. -16 to the Tennessee Titans.

The Texans (8-6) began the game outside of the AFC’s seven playoff spots without several key players, including their rookie QB Stroud whom Case Keenum replaced.

Titans (5-9) rookie quarterback Will Levis left the game with a leg issue with 1:49 left in overtime following being sacked for the seventh time.

Fairbairn hit field goals of 23, 27 and 53 yards as the offense stalled near the goal line.

Keenum led the Texans to their only touchdown with 3:03 left, helping to tie the score at 16 and force overtime.

Devin Singletary rushed for 121 yards and nearly ended the game with a 34-yard touchdown run in the final seconds of overtime that was nullified and followed by Fairbairn’s field goal.

The loss ensured the second straight losing season for the Titans.
