Logitech’s gaming cell is back on the gaming headset market with a brand new product: le G Pro X 2. And those who have been following the releases of the Swiss brand for years will no doubt have understood that this is a new iteration of the famous G Pro X. Like its illustrious elder, Logitech G’s new baby is designed to comply with the demands of professional gamersand following just over 10 days of use, I’m finally ready to give you my verdict.

Design and comfort: all good for the G Pro X 2
From the packaging, we immediately understand the core target of this Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed (a bit long as a name). On one side of the box, there are several esports teams from all over the world, such as TSM (United States), Natus Vincere (Ukraine) or Karmine Corp (France) – which, for the first time, appears on a packaging of the Swiss brand.
Contents of the box:
- Casque gaming PRO X 2 Lightspeed
- Leatherette ear cups with memory foam
- Fabric ear cups with additional memory foam
- LIGHTSPEED USB-A wireless adapter with 3.5mm port
- Detachable mic with foam windscreen
- USB-A to USB-C cable (dedicated to charging)
- 3.5mm cable
- Soft storage cover
In terms of design, you don’t change a winning team. As with the G Pro X, Logitech has chosen to continue using a mix of aluminum (extensible part of the headband) and steel (headband), while continuing on the leatherette and fabric (velvet) with shape memory for the ear cups. On the other hand, and this is one of the big changes of this new iteration, the G Pro X 2 is available in black and white, which allows it to marry with any setup. I do not hide it from you, in writing, we are rather a fan of this new white color.
Next to that, Logitech’s new headset also stands out from its big brother with the addition of rotating ear cups, which is a practical good when you want to carry it in a suitcase or bag. On the head, the G Pro X 2 is very niceeven when wearing glasses – the branches are not crushed by the ear cups, even during long gaming sessions. Nevertheless, and although it is lighter than its predecessor with 345g on the scale, the latest addition to the Swiss brand is quite imposing in size and almost transforms us into an airplane pilot. A problem that is almost anecdotal, both both sets of earbuds are comfortable. For my part, I admit to having a small preference for imitation leather, which is a little less warm than breathable velvet – something quite important for circum-aural headphones like this one.
The G Pro X 2 can also be fine-tuned – even with my oval head. Small detail that may be important for some, the Logitech headset does not have an RGB system, which is ultimately a fairly logical choice given the core target of the product. Esport: it’s performance and sobriety above all! And speaking of efficiency, all the connectors (except the minijack) and the buttons are on the left atriumwhether it’s the power button, the volume wheel, the microphone mute, the USB-C port, the Bluetooth pairing button or the detachable microphone port.
Quality sound output and input
In terms of sound, the G Pro X 2 is simply stunning! In terms of its internal design, we go from a hybrid mesh to an elaborate composition in graphene (95%) – a derivative of carbon which gives the helmet a robust and durable grip while focusing on lightness. During my long gaming sessions on Valorant, CS:GO or even Red Dead Redemption 2, I was able to realize how extremely clear and precise the sound was.whether on a Brimstone smoke, an enemy decal or to hear a panther lurking behind my back.
The spatialization is very effective, whether thanks to the surround or the DTS:X Headphone and comes once once more to tick the esport box! Small precision, which is important, the G Pro X 2 is not a headset designed for listening to music (lack of bass), even if it will, all the same, do the job in this kind of use . Of course, all audio settings can be changed through the Logitech G Hub software, but we’ll get to that a bit later.
If the sound is good at the output, what regarding the input? Spoiler: it’s all good too! When we talk regarding esports and competitive gaming, communication is also a point not to be overlooked. And that, the Swiss brand has understood, since the quality of the detachable microphone is equally excellent. As on the G Pro X, the latter is modular and offers a robust design. In addition, it includes a foam windshield at its end which filters out hissing and other parasitic noises relatively well. During my in-game communications with my teammates and during my tests, I never had any problems with clipping or loss of gain. To note that this G Pro X 2 is equipped with Blue VO!CE technologywhich offers real-time voice filters reducing noise and making voices richer, crisper, clearer and more professional.
An installation and a software suite at the top!
As for the installation of the headset on PC, there is not much to do: just plug the dongle into a USB-A port and turn on the headset for it to be immediately recognized by the machine. The installation of the Logitech G Hub software suite is, all the same, highly recommended to be able to enjoy a high-end personalized experience. It should also be noted that it is impossible to use it without its dongle when plugged into USB, which is not necessarily very practical for people who do not have a large number of USB ports on their machine. Small practical detail, the dongle is equipped with a minijack. I also remind you that the G Pro X 2 is compatible with PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switchbut not Xbox because of Microsoft’s proprietary console technologies.
If you are a regular of the Swiss brand, then you are probably familiar with its software suite, Logitech G Hub. In the case of the G Pro X 2, it is possible to adjust a large number of parameters, whether at the level of the helmet or the microphone. Acoustics, surround sound, DTS:X, equalizer, Blue VO!CE or even battery level, all the information we need is gathered in the same place, and that feels good, since unlike some software which I would not the name, G Hub is a really intuitive and complete suite.
The final word
The G Pro X 2 is arguably Logitech’s best headset to date; and to get it, you will have to pay the tidy sum of 269€. A price that is justified by the strong choices that the brand wanted to make to hoist its product to the top of the basket. This pre-conclusion also allows me to talk to you regarding autonomy. On paper, Logitech announces 50 hours, a promise kept since in real conditions they have reached this same quota. In short, lovers of the G Pro X will not be out of place and will find all the qualities of the first born of the Swiss brand on this new iteration, which goes upmarket even further by grabbing many additional strengths.
The Logitech G Pro X 2 Lightspeed is indeed the illustrious successor of the G Pro X. And thanks to well-thought-out additions, the new headset from the Swiss brand fills in the gaps of its elder to position itself as a must-have for gamers. . With its graphene transducers, rotating ear cups and three types of connection, the G Pro X 2 ticks all the boxes for excellence, and almost makes us forget its few flaws. Indeed, even if it is quite imposing on the head and the dongle must be plugged in for it to work while charging, the sound quality and comfort of this product take precedence over everything else. GGWP!
