Tesla Semi serial tractor, Sinara electric bus in St. Petersburg and more – Autoreview

Elon Musk has finally unveiled a serial electric Tesla Semi truck – The first machines have already been handed over to customers. The tractor is designed for a total weight of a little more than 37 tons as part of a road train. The device is set in motion by three electric motors – two of them on the third axle are responsible for acceleration, and one motor on the middle axle is responsible for maintaining rectilinear movement along the highway.

The power of the electric motors is not reported, but it is stated that the hitch loaded to full weight will accelerate to 60 mph in 20 seconds – which means that it will reach maximum speed on the highway faster than competitors with internal combustion engines, which will have a positive effect on reducing the time of cargo delivery. The battery capacity (with an energy consumption of 1.24 kWh / km) is approximately 600 and 1000 kWh – respectively, for versions with a claimed mileage of 300 and 500 miles.

First of all, Semi will be received by those who pre-ordered back in 2017, having paid 20 thousand dollars. Then the prices were announced at the level of 150 thousand dollars for the 300-mile version, and 180 thousand for the Semi with a range of 500 miles. Probably, following the issuance of all booked cars, the cost of Tesla electric tractors will rise.

Ural Automobile Plant, like others, produces limited truck modifications: chassis, tractors and dump trucks. Nevertheless, Urals acquire numerous other professions in the workshops of partner companies.

Among such partners, Spetstekhkomplekt celebrates its 18th anniversary. It is engaged in the sale of cars of the Ural brand, as well as maintenance, warranty and current repairs, including the departure of mobile service teams to the place of work of cars. In addition, its structure includes the StroyDorMash plant from the city of Aramil, near Yekaterinburg.

A new production site with modern equipment has recently opened there. It manufactures various add-ons on the Ural chassis: laboratories, workshops, shift buses, vans, flatbed vehicles with CMU and timber trucks. And in the near future, the production of tanks will begin.

Petersburg, unlike the capital, continues to use traditional electric transport – trolleybuses. At the same time, he does not shy away from the latest developments in the industry, electric buses. But, of course, far from being on a Moscow scale: there are only a dozen Volgabasovs and an experienced MAZ in the park so far. Interestingly, the most popular cars, LiAZ and KAMAZ, are not used in St. Petersburg.

And this week, another exotic electric bus, Sinara-6253. It differs from its competitors by an increased power reserve of up to 250 kilometers. It can be charged in different ways: through a stationary charger – in four hours, through a pantograph – in an hour. The ninety-seat low-floor electric bus, of course, is equipped with all modern “gadgets”: an ADAS driver assistance system, 11 surveillance cameras, USB chargers, Wi-Fi, and a climate control system. Testing of the electric bus will last six months, following which its certification will begin.
