Tesla recalls more than 400 Model 3 vehicles to avoid accidents

Electric car maker Tesla called for a recall of just over 400 Model 3 vehicles in the United States. The company highlighted that the reason for the recall is the possible loosening of the front suspension sidebar fasteners.

According to the automaker’s statement, all sidebar fasteners will be tightened or replaced. Without the repair, the sidebar separation might change the wheel alignment. There were no reports of accidents or injuries related to the problem.

The new recall covers 2018 and 2019 model vehicles. and it’s an expansion of another that took place in 2021 to solve the same issue on nearly 2,800 cars from years 2019-2021 Model 3 and 2020-2021 Tesla Model Y.

According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, sidebar separation might change wheel alignment, causing instability and increasing the risk of an accident.

It is also worth mentioning that Tesla has received, since January 2019, 25 warranty claims and two field reports that are related or may be related to the recall, but no accidents or injuries have been officially reported.

The Model 3 is a four-door compact electric vehicle that stands out as one of Tesla’s most affordable models. The model is quite successful in the international market and has led sales in the United States and Europe several times.
