Tesla is ahead of Volkswagen in Germany

The American company “Tesla” topped the electric car market in Germany during the first half of the year, and the German “Volkswagen” is seeking to catch up.

Data from the German Federal Automotive Authority showed that during the period from January to June 2023, regarding 36,400 new Tesla cars were licensed, constituting 16.5% of the total 220,200 purely electric cars that were licensed during that period.

Volkswagen electric cars once more occupied the second place with 34,400 cars, equivalent to a share of 15.6%.

Mercedes came in third with 16,900 cars, followed by Audi with 14,400 cars, then BMW with 12,800 electric cars in the first half of this year.

Since the beginning of this year, the vehicle sector has witnessed a steady increase in the sales of some agencies and not others, as 10 companies accounted for the scene as the best-selling car manufacturers around the world.

The focus2move platform, which specializes in global auto markets, revealed that 10 brands in the world sold more than 15.787 million vehicles during the first five months of 2023.

The classification of international car brands showed, until last May, that the Japanese company “Toyota” topped the global market as the best-selling vehicle, while the Chinese “BYD” advanced eight places since the beginning of the year, compared to last year, in which it ranked 18th, while it is currently among The Big 10 that dominate the market.
