Tesla has paid for the navigator feature in all electric vehicles. Didn’t pay – get your smartphone

Tesla has announced that navigation in all its vehicles ordered following July 20, 2022 will become paid.

For the first 8 years of owning a car, navigation will be free. After this period, users will have to pay a monthly subscription.

The company did not disclose the cost of the subscription. Navigation included Standard Connectivity. All other additional Tesla features (live cameras, karaoke, satellite maps) are available with the Premium Standard subscription for $9.99.

Perhaps in the future, Tesla will abandon the Standard Connectivity plan and leave only the Premium Standard.

The owner of the car may not pay for the subscription, but in this case, the navigation will not work. You will have to use the navigator in your smartphone or tablet. [CNET]
