Tesla Cybertruck: a production version less ambitious than expected?

After multiple delays to its launch since its presentation more than three years ago, mass production of the Tesla Cybertruck will finally begin in 2024.

If Tesla is careful not to reveal the details of the concept and the production version, several prototypes have been photographed in recent months. One of the last was seen at Tesla’s factory and test center in Fremont.

To prepare it for production, some changes have therefore been made to the Cybertruck, which has undergone a reduction in its general dimensions, while various changes have been made to the exterior design. For example, the headlights and the front Led light bar have been reworked. The amber turn signals are now placed just above the black bumper.

The Cybertruck also features a pair of black triangular mirrors and a driver’s side mono wiper.

A forum member Cybertruck Owners Club was able to photograph the machine driving on the Tesla test track in California. The video doesn’t show anything very interesting, because the vehicle is driven very carefully, but it gives a glimpse of the overall design in motion.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk announced in January that production of the Cybertruck would begin this summer, while mass production will not begin until 2024. While no technical data has leaked yet, we do know that three variants will be offered: the first with a single electric motor in propulsion, and two others with all-wheel drive. The Cybertruck’s battery capacity is not yet known, but the flagship variant, equipped with three electric motors, might travel over 800 km on a single charge.
