Tesla boss Elon Musk hints at possibly getting into the football business. “I’m buying Manchester United, you’re welcome,” Musk wrote on Twitter. The market capitalization of the English football champions was 2.08 billion dollars at the close on Tuesday. It wasn’t immediately clear if Musk was seeking a deal. He’s known for not always being serious regarding his announcements on Twitter.

Manchester United did not immediately respond to a Archyde.com request for comment. The club is majority owned by the US Glazer family. This is criticized by fans because the team does not show the desired performance on the pitch. Some fans had therefore asked Musk to buy Manchester United instead of Twitter. Musk surprisingly announced in April that he wanted to take over Twitter and then canceled the purchase in July, citing false statements regarding the number of bogus accounts on the platform.
