Terrorists fired on a bus in Chilas, 8 people were killed

In Gilgit-Baltistan, 8 passengers were killed as a result of firing by unknown persons on a passenger bus passing through the Karakoram highway, while more deaths are expected. In Gilgit-Baltistan, a shooting incident has taken place on a bus passing through the Karakoram Highway near Hador, an area adjacent to the town of Chilas.

Sources of the relief agency have said that as a result of the firing, a fire broke out in the passenger bus due to which 26 people, including women and children, were injured, whose condition is critical.

According to the police, the injured in the incident have been taken to the Regional Headquarters Hospital Chilas.

Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan Haji Gulbar Khan has strongly condemned the cowardly terrorist attack on a passenger bus in Diamer and said that a special team has been formed to investigate the incident, which is being closely examined.

He said that the government will strictly punish the terrorists involved in the attack and bring them to justice. The government will use all its resources to arrest the criminals and the government of Gilgit-Baltistan will pay all the expenses of the injured persons in the accident.

He said that better medical facilities will be ensured for which instructions have been issued to the concerned departments. Law enforcement agencies have been ordered to arrest the culprits immediately, which is being supervised by IG Gilgit-Baltistan.

The Chief Minister said that anti-national elements will be identified and such elements will be severely punished. While expressing sympathy with the families of the martyrs and the injured, he said that the government of Gilgit-Baltistan is with the families in this difficult time of trial. The blood of the martyrs will not go in vain and all the murderers will be brought to justice.

He has said that the provincial government is taking all possible measures to establish peace in Gilgit-Baltistan, no one will be allowed to sabotage peace.

Special Assistant on Information, Gilgit-Baltistan, Iman Shah, while talking to journalists, said that the passengers in Diamar strongly condemn the cowardly terrorist attack on the bus, and the law enforcement agencies have been ordered to arrest the criminals immediately. IGP Gilgit-Baltistan himself is supervising.

Former President Asif Ali Zardari has condemned the incident of terrorism in Gilgit-Baltistan and said that the perpetrators of terrorism in Gilgit-Baltistan should be severely punished.

Asif Ali Zardari expressed sympathy and condolences to the families of the martyrs and prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured. The former president demanded that the federal and Gilgit-Baltistan governments bring the terrorists’ planners to book and punish them severely.

Caretaker Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Justice Retired Syed Arshad strongly condemned the incident of firing by unknown armed persons on a passenger bus and expressed regret for the loss of precious lives and prayed for forgiveness of the deceased and patience for the families. The Chief Minister expressed his best wishes for the speedy recovery of those injured in the incident and contacted the Additional Chief Secretary Home and asked for a report.

The Caretaker Chief Minister directed to keep a special watch on the law and order situation on the border areas of Kohistan and the Karakoram highway and for this purpose the police should be kept on alert.
