The Cienfuegos Military Sector developed this Saturday an extensive program of activities framed in the Territorial Defense Day, consisting of combat preparation, methodological classes and military exercises, under the concept of the war of all the people.
According to Major Maikel Oliva Suárez, the actions took place simultaneously in the Zone Defense Councils (CDZ) existing in the eight municipalities of Cienfuegos, although the combined shooting classes and other demonstration activities were concentrated in the CDZs of La Barrera and Tulipán, both located at the head of this province.
“The Territorial Defense Day is organized with the objective of preparing the CDZ staff (for the best functioning of the working groups and subgroups), the Production and Defense Brigades, and of course, the population.
“In addition to the methodological orientations and combat exercises, we carry out exercises for the evacuation of the wounded, as well as the continuous production of food and natural medicine drugs,” explained Oliva Suárez.
In Cienfuegos, the Territorial Defense Day was attended by Marydé Fernández López and Alexandre Corona Quintero, president and vice president of the Provincial Defense Council, respectively.
