Arthur Cazaux suddenly fainted during a tournament match. Terrifying scenes

On Monday, during the qualifying round for the main tournament in Miami, two Frenchmen met on the court – Arthur Cazaux (74th ATP) and Harold Mayot (141st ATP). After over 130 minutes of competition between the two men, there were terrifying scenes involving the former.

During the fourth game of the third set, Arthur Cazaux suddenly fell to the ground while waiting to receive his opponent’s serve. The player fainted, and following a while medics and the match referee appeared. The probable cause of the incident was… the prevailing heat.

Of course, the match might not be continued and the 22-year-old retired. Thus, the match ended with Mayot winning with the score 1:1 (6:4, 5:7, 1:2). The 141st ranked tennis player will play in the qualifying final. Internet users criticized the Frenchman for his behavior following Cazaux’s fall. The recordings show that he did not approach his representative teammate.

The ATP Masters tournament in Miami will start on March 20 and end on March 31. Hubert Hurkacz will take part in the tournament, as he was placed in the same quarter as Carlos Alcaraz, so he may become the runner-up in the ATP ranking at a relatively early stage. In the first match, the Pole will face the better of the pair: Daniel Elahi Galan – Alexander Shevchenko.
