Terrenoire, De La Crau, Paul Lay… Our concert ideas

THE MORNING LIST

A rock group made up of four different bands who will join together on tour, a jazz trio with a symphony orchestra, a big band which introduces the first times of jazz as much as it makes you dance, a trio which gives rock power to his acoustic instruments, a tour of the siblings who have just received the Victoire de la Musique in the category “male revelation of the year”… These are some of the concert proposals from mid-February to mid-March.

The Summer Camp on tour, from February 16

Summer camp.

Ah the pretty summer camp! We are, however, very far from the universe of Pierre Perret with this collective resulting from four groups of the French noise electro rock scene (Electric, Marvin, Papier Tigre, Pneu). In activity for almost ten years, this hybrid formation of a dozen musicians (five guitars and basses, four drums, two keyboards, including five vocalists), offers an extraordinary concert experience: a quadraphonic creation, the public placed in the center, each group distributed to the four corners of the room. A 360-degree performance, where each group responds to the other, in a ping-pong mixing math rock, experimental, electro noise, garage rock and even progressive rock à la King Crimson. Their debut album, titled REAL (Vicious Circle), published at the end of January, is the consecration of these ten years of singular alchemy. La Colonie de vacances will be on tour for seven dates in February, then in April and June. Frank Colombani

Avishai Cohen Trio and the Orchester national d’Ile-de-France, at La Seine musicale, in Boulogne-Billancourt, on February 17

Avishai Cohen, in concert at La Seine musicale, in Boulogne-Billancourt (Hauts-de-Seine), Thursday February 17, at 8:30 p.m.

In April 2021, double bassist, composer and singer Avishai Cohen enchanted with the album Two Roses (Naïve/Believe), alliance of his jazz trio (mixed with elements of oriental music, pop) with pianist Elchin Shirinov and drummer Mark Guiliana and the nearly one hundred performers of the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Alexander Hanson.

Almost a year later we will be able, to go beyond this remarkable album, to experience live the relationship between the trio, this time with Roni Kaspi on drums, and the orchestral density once more under the baton of ‘Alexander Hanson, who will lead the Orchester national d’Ile-de-France. This ambitious program will be presented in the great hall of La Seine musicale, at the opening of the establishment’s jazz season until the summer, which notably announces the quintet of double bassist Christian McBride (March 17), guitarist John McLaughlin with 4th Dimension (May 23)… Sylvain Siclier
