Tent in Causeway Bay is suspected to be blown off by strong winds, hit a vehicle and injure a female passerby

In Causeway Bay, a tent and its bracket fell from the empty space and smashed into cars, injuring passers-by. The scene is outside a site at No. 2 Yaohua Street. At about 1 o’clock this afternoon (17th), a large tent about 2 meters by 2 meters with its brackets suddenly fell from the sky, hitting a passing private car and a Zhao (16 years old) is a female passerby. The victim suffered a head injury and was consciously sent to the hospital after treatment. The front and roof of the private car were slightly damaged, but the female driver was fine.

After investigation by the police, it is believed that the tent and its brackets were originally set up on a building at No. 11 Sao East Street opposite the site. The case was classified as “Falling Object from Height – Someone Injured” and “Vehicle Damaged”. It was handed over to the Criminal Investigation Team of Wanchai Police District for follow-up, and a summons will be issued to the person in charge of the premises later.
