Gabriel Niedermayr also managed the double at the international U14 tournament in Tyrol.

Whether in the east or in the west of Austria: the past tournament week has brought the ÖTV youth a series of triumphs at Tennis Europe youth level. While three of the four competitions at the U12 event in Vienna went to the red-white-red aces, the local young talents were even able to top this at the U14 tournament in Zams. Because at the international youth tournament event premiere at SV Zams Tennis, both local hero Anna Pircher (in the girls’ doubles with Kara Fronek) and Gabriel Niedermayr (in the boys’ doubles with Anton Kahlig) secured the double at the Tennis Europe Trophy Zams. As a result, all four competitions of the category 3 event went to Austria.

Both Pircher and Niedermayr knew how to impress on their way to a double triumph. After a bye and a 6:0, 6:0 win over the Italian Rachele Simonetti, Pircher then finished off her compatriots Petra Reichenbach 6:2, 6:2, Fronek 6:1, 6:1 and in the final Lara Linder with 6: 0, 6:0 and thus impressively lived up to their clear role as favorites at their home club. The top-ranked Tyrolean only gave up a total of six games in four matches on her way to the title, just like Niedermayr in five games. The top seeded Upper Austrian even won the first seven sets once morest his opponents and following three victories 6:0, 6:0 also beat the Dutchman Pim de Graaff, who was ranked in three, 6:0, 7:5 and the one in five Ukrainian Pylyp Lymar sovereign in the title fight with 6:0, 6:1.

Dominance also in doubles

The performances of the two home aces in doubles were no less clear. Pircher and Fronek only lost five games in two matches to get into the top-seeded final, where she and the Viennese beat second-placed Casey Mauro (Great Britain) and Valeriia Oleksyn (Ukraine) 6-4, 6-3. Niedermayr gave up a total of five games in three matches with Kahlig, before adding four more in the 6: 4, 6: 0 in the all-red-white-red title game once morest Jakob de Vries and Noah-Leander Lachowitz. While Pircher was looking forward to not having to live out of a suitcase at an international tournament and looking forward to a two-week vacation with her family, TTV Vice President Thomas Hittler had a lot of praise for the organizer and his team at the award ceremony on Saturday. Thus an organizationally and sportively successful tournament week in Tyrol came to an end.
