In this new year 2024, the world of urban mobility is preparing to welcome a new electric scooter with the arrival of the Velocifero Tennis-E. This creation from the Italian brand Velocifero represents a marriage between vintage style and electric technology. This scooter promises a unique experience for urban scooter lovers. Scheduled to arrive on the European market in March 2024, the Tennis-E stands out as an attractive option for city dwellers looking for efficient and elegant mobility.
Tennis-E : retro design with a modern twist
Founded by Italian designer Alessandro Tartarini, Velocifero is a company specializing in scooters and lightweight mobility solutions. Although initially focused on gasoline scooters, the brand recently made an isuccessful excursion in the world of electric two-wheelers with innovative models such as the Race-X. The Tennis-E, latest addition to the range, embodies the retro aesthetic while embracing electric technology.
This latest addition retains“old school” aesthetic of the scooter petrol Tennis 125. Indeed, it’s all regarding the retro look on this scooter, with a front apron and body-colored hubcaps. However, Velocifero does not sacrifice modernity. Tennis-ET integrates contemporary touches such as a dual-optic headlight and full LED daytime running lights. This fusion of styles gives the scooter a unique presence on the road, attracting admiring glances from passers-by. At the same time, it provides optimal visibility for the driver.
A 125 cc equivalent electric scooter
Under the hood, this electric scooter has a permanent magnet motor. The latter pumps 3kW of nominal power and peaks at 5 kW, or approximately 6.7 horsepower. Which puts it in the same performance range as a 125cc gasoline scooter. However, it differs in terms of torque, Velocifero claims a torque of 150 Nm.
Thrill-seekers can choose from three available driving modes: Eco, Comfort and Sport. With a top speed of up to 85 km/h, the Tennis-E guarantees dynamic driving experience and adapted to the different needs of the driver.
As for its power source, the Velocifero Tennis-E has two removable lithium-ion batteries with a combined capacity of 2.99 kW.
Each pack weighs 10 kilograms. This gives cyclists the opportunity to save weight and use only one battery on shorter journeys. The batteries can be fully charged in approximately 4 hours. Combined, they offer a range of 80 kilometers on a single charge.
As for pricing and availability, the Italian brand has not yet announced any information regarding the new Tennis-E. However, it should arrive at European dealerships in time for spring, in March 2024.
