Tennis pro Peter Gojowczyk has advanced to the second round of the ATP tournament in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
The world number 111. from Munich won against the Czech Jiri Lehecka 6:4, 6:3 and now meets Ilja Ivashka (No.11) from Belarus.
For Gojowczyk (33) it is the dress rehearsal for the US Open in New York (from August 29), at the tournaments in Atlanta and Washington the former Davis Cup player was eliminated in the first round. In Winston-Salem he is the only German in the tournament after Daniel Altmaier from Kempen lost.
