Ten Tonnes is the name of singer-songwriter Ethan Barnett. She started her activities in her teens and released her debut album “Ten Tonnes” in 2019. He is also known as the younger brother of popular artist George Ezra.

‘Drowning In The Deep End’ is included in the new album ‘Dancing, Alone’ which will be released on July 28th. Mixed by his Jag Jago (The Maccabees, The Magic Gang, Matt Maltese).

“This song was a way of me processing a tough time in my life and lyrically I think it set a theme for the rest of the album of deeper honesty and transparency with myself. I didn’t want it to feel too heavy musically though and it’s written more from a place of looking back at a dark period as opposed to being in the centre of it. I’ve played it live a couple of times now and it’s so much fun to play and I think that’s ultimately a really satisfying full circle feeling of owning that time in my life and appreciating where I’ve got to since then.” – Ten Tonnes

The song is a way of handling difficult times in my life, and I think the lyrics set the theme for other albums of deeper honesty and transparency with myself. Musically, I didn’t want it to feel too heavy, so I wrote it with the feeling of looking back on the dark times instead of being in the middle of the dark times. I played it live a few times and it was a lot of fun and ultimately a really satisfying full circle feeling of owning that time in my life and appreciating where it has come since. I think. -Ten Tonnes
