With Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, Infinity Ward and Raven Software have released a really good successor to the popular Battle Royale offshoot of Call of Duty, which, like its predecessor, can be played for free. With Battle Royale and DMZ, there are now two game variants in the Warzone that differ significantly from each other. Since the game itself is silent regarding many mechanics in the game, we’ll tell you how best to start the free-to-play shooter. Here are our ten tips for getting started in Warzone 2.0 Battle Royale.
1 ) What modes are there for Battle Royale in Warzone 2.0?
Classic Battle Royale mode comes with the full list of default modes at launch: You can Solo, in a duo or in a quad of four start to Al Mazrah. However, there are also trios – but they are geared a little differently. On the one hand there is Third Person Playlist, for which squads of three are intended. Here you play according to normal rules, but from the chasing view.
On the other hand, there is the special variant “Crazy 3’s” – here you start in threes, but you can recruit other players into your own squad, so that if others get involved in the alliance, you are on the move with up to six fighters. There is no “normal” three-way variant yet.
2) Ambient voice chat in Warzone 2.0
All modes in Warzone 2.0 allow so-called Ambient Voice Chat, using the in-game VoIP tool. You can use this feature in Options menu under Audio to switch on and off. Once you’ve activated it, you can with other players in the area communicate – for example to form a team in Crazy 3s.
However, the whole thing has a catch, because your microphone is always audible. If you’re in an in-game party, the others can join you activated ambient chat listen anyway. Tactical agreements (and trash talk) are then no longer secret!
3) Think regarding communication when jumping
Make sure to use this during the jump sequence Ping tool on the mini-map. Open it by pressing the corresponding button (PS5: touch field), move the cursor with the stick and use the directional pad to mark up where you want to load. Even if you’re not using voice chat, your allies will know where you’re going.
The same applies following landing on the ground. uhr can ping equipment, weapons etc. or set markers for movement. A double press sets a danger marker, You can also ping enemies directly and marked in red.
4) Quiet is the best policy
It’s best to look for each other in your first rounds somewhat quieter areas, in which you do not run directly into experienced enemy arms. Especially if it’s your first Battle Royale steps, you should jump off later and look for a less competitive place. You can tell by the number of enemy parachutes. Here you can then first learn the movement, pick up weapons and equipment and familiarize yourself with the basics of Warzone 2.0.
In Warzone 2.0, you can now climb, swim, swing over walls, and throw from the sprint (long press crouch). „Slide Cancel“so shoot in slides and „Bunnyhopping“, i.e. jumping faster than in a sprint no longer works.
5) Armor plates are extremely important in Warzone 2.0
After landing in the danger zone, you first need two things: a weapon and armor plates. The latter are your life insurance in battle and give you valuable fractions of a second to react to fire. So always make sure that your plate carrier is full, you can see the indicator for this at the bottom left of the screen.
By pressing the corresponding button (PS5: triangle) you can push in a plate, if you keep the button pressed all empty slots will be filled as long as you have enough armor in your inventory. So always collect as many plates as your backpack can hold.
6) Better armor in Warzone 2.0
In Battle Royale mode, you always start without equipment – and with only two armor plate slots in the plate carrier. But there are better vests, into which you can slide three tiles. You can find these in weapon crates or gym bags.
Alternatively you can use one of the radios the Safecracker job accept. There is always better armor here following blowing up the third safe.
Finally, you can too attack an AI fortress. The armored guards are happy to leave that triple plate carrier fallen.
7) Custom loadouts in Warzone 2.0
In Warzone 2.0 there is also the possibility to get your own loadouts prepared before the game. These are set up in the weapons menu before the game just like in multiplayer, including primary and secondary weapons, attachments, skins, perks, as well as tactical and lethal gear and field gear. However, the modes do not share the loadouts, you have to create new variants explicitly for Warzone 2.0.
You get them in the game Loadouts no longer at the buy stations. Instead there is one Loadout-Drop In the mid-game, a plane will drop a series of crates for you to pick up your gear of choice. Alternatively, you must have one of the Attack AI fortresses. If you rid the building of CPU minions and deactivate the bomb, you can also select your equipment from a box.
8) Die Zone in Warzone 2.0
In Warzone 2.0, the shrinking of the circle works differently than in other Battle Royale games. Towards the middle of the game, the zone can change into three separate areas split up. These will only be reunited at the end.
So you are not always in the same zone with all players, so be prepared for surprises. In addition, always note where on the map which zone is currently located. In the last step, you even have to move with the circle, which can quickly become fatal.
9) The new Gulag in Warzone 2.0
Death is not automatically the end of the round in Warzone 2.0. If you die at the beginning or in the middle of a round, you end up in the so-called Gulag. Here you must fight to return to Al Mazrah. In Warzone 2.0, a two-on-two takes place in the arena. You usually have a pistol, a smoke grenade and a hand grenade at your disposal.
Tried in the Gulag target the smoketo confuse your opponents on your side of the arena. Bets on one Flank maneuver through the fog to outmaneuver the enemies. Boil your deadly hand grenade, before throwing them to give the enemy no chance to dodge – and just pick up new gear for both slots that’s on the ground. Also calculate with the armor of the opponent – a headshot is not enough. Much luck!
10) Buy stations in Warzone 2.0
Also in Warzone 2.0 there are buy stations once morewhere you can spend the money you collect. Here you can buy equipment, armor plates and primary weapons, as well as killstreaks. Armor plates are (almost) always worthwhile. Both Above all, Killstreaks is the drone immensely important, because it gives you an invaluable overview of enemy activity in your immediate area.
If you play in a team, you can also use your buy back fallen comrades – even if they failed in the Gulag. For this you need $4000then you can select the appropriate option at any purchase station.
