Ten Hag: this is not the expected level

The team can only thank its twenty-year-old goalkeeper that the end result did not become more embarrassing. This is how the Dutch assessed it following the blow.

Manchester United suffered a 1-0 defeat at the hands of the Norwegian team Rosenborg early on Monday night. The coach of the Red Devils spoke to MUTV following the whistle and did not hold back in the slightest following his team’s first warm-up match.

“The final result is not secondary, but at Manchester United, victory is acceptable, not defeat. Our performance today did not reach the expected level” – began the Dutchman.

“This is not the level of elite football. It is clear that we are not ready to go yet. We need these matches. The Norwegians are much fitter, but we are Manchester United. We have to do much better” – continued ten Hag, pointing out that although the Norwegian championship is already in full swing, this cannot be an excuse for defeat either.

With the exception of goalkeeper Radek Vitek, few people made a lasting impact in the match. The Czech netminder also made five saves, including great feats, which prevented the development of a much more embarrassing final result.

“We can also say that the team gave him the opportunity to defend so much, because the performance of the others was far from enough” ten Hag added.

It was also in this match that Tomas Nemcik’s ugly entry happened. In the 18th minute, the Slovakian defender of Rosenborg headed for Casemiro following a long pushed ball.

Nemcik received a yellow card, but the referee might have easily sent him off.

The Norwegian team was finally able to win once morest the reserve United with a goal scored by Noah Holm in the 93rd minute.

Erik ten Hag’s team will next play on Saturday followingnoon when they host Glasgow Rangers.
