Ten Hag confirms Ronaldo will stay at Manchester United

Manchester United coach Eric Ten Hag confirmed that he is counting on Cristiano Ronaldo this season, stressing that the latter will remain in his ranks, one day before the summer transfer window closes at midnight Thursday-Friday.

“It is definitely clear, we need high-quality players,” Ten Hag said in a press conference on Wednesday, on the eve of his team’s match once morest Leicester City in the English Premier League, when asked if Ronaldo would defend the team’s colors during the current season.

He added, “We need more attackers to cover the participation in all matches and maintain stability. This is what we are looking forward to. From now on, we will play 3 matches every three days.”

“We need more players up front. Attackers get tired faster, they have to run with more force.”

“With regard to this window of transfers, we have finished (concluding deals), and we will play with this current group from now until at least next January (the opening date of the winter transfer window).”

Ronaldo, 37, expressed his desire to move to another club to participate in the Champions League, knowing that Manchester United will enter the European League (European League), but he did not receive any good offers from any of the elite clubs on the continent. Reports indicated the possibility of contracting with his former club Sporting, the Portuguese, the Italian Napoli or the French Marseille, but things did not reach their conclusion.

Ronaldo leads the top scorers in the Champions League, 15 goals ahead of Argentine star Lionel Messi, player of Paris Saint-Germain.
